Introduction

For physio practice Kinesitherapie Tille, working with athletes goes beyond treating injuries. Their vision is about building sustainable performance by integrating testing and data into both rehabilitation and athletic development. That approach takes shape in their long-term collaboration with Avanti Knights Brugge, where structure, regular testing, and transparent communication drive continuous improvement.

Structured athletic development

The practice performs three physical screening sessions a year with the Avanti Knights basketball teams, focusing on mobility, jump, sprint, and overall conditioning.

  • For the men’s team, results are directly used to set individual focus points within team training, since the Tille team is also involved in games and training.
  • In the women’s off-season, they run a 10-week weekend training program built on the test results. Players train in small groups based on shared development goals—for example, improving top speed or acceleration using data from Ledsreact testing. This makes training highly individualized, yet still team-oriented.

Among the younger players from Avanti (U12–U16), structure is key as well. Around 40 youth athletes are measured every 8–10 weeks using the Growth Tracker. Reports are sent to both coaches and parents, keeping everyone aligned on each athlete’s development.

Data-driven rehabilitation

Within their daily practice, the therapists at kinesitherapie Tille also apply the same structure to rehabilitation. Injured athletes start with an intake, followed by a Hylyght test session to set a baseline. Progress is monitored through repeated testing, helping therapists adapt each recovery plan as needed. Post-operative cases are systematically tested after 6 weeks, 3 months, and again later if required.

“When rehab goes well, everyone can see it. But when there’s doubt about return-to-sport readiness, objective testing makes things crystal clear—it’s black on white. That’s powerful for educating and supporting patients” Simon notes.

Sharing Hylyght reports with coaches has also enhanced collaboration. Trainers gain direct insight into each athlete’s physical status, making the transition from physiotherapy back to full training much smoother.

A clear path forward

For the Tille team, Hylyght’s greatest value lies in how it brings structure and objectivity to both performance and rehab. It motivates athletes, builds trust, and supports better decision-making through measurable data.

Looking ahead, Simon sees even more potential in the upcoming mobile app where athletes can track their progress and access their personal data, to make follow-up even easier and more engaging.
